| The yearly brain teaser and supper were held at 147
homes around the country. The Best WGC team came in at a creditable

| Chollah Making |

| A demonstration by the Rebbetzen and a chance to bake
your own Chollah was taken up by 15 bakers, mostly female but some
males. The results were delicious. |

President of the United Synagogue and an audience of 40 enjoyed

supper. Three homes in WGC played from a total of 150 UK wide and
one of us managed to come FOURTH. |

| Games Afternoon |

| We have started an afternoon
of games – Scrabble,
cards, Chess, etc. – in the houses of participants. Afternoon
tea is included. |

The community came out with their children and
grandchildren to the biggest Chanukah get together for many years.
Donuts, Artwork and a menorah for almost every child made this
year’s party unforgettable and the biggest fire risk the
Shul has known. Thanks to all who contributed to it and even bigger
next year. |

| Visit to Parliament |

| Visit to the House of Commons
where we met the MP Grant Shapps, who entertained us in on of the
meeting rooms and then arranged a visit to the Viewing Gallery
where we reviewed part of the Finance Act details as the Commons
debated it. A hot day but the coach was airconditioned and the
heavens opened just as we were finding our way into the House.

| Pesach Matzo Ramble |
16 April 2006 |
| On Chol HaMoed, we can carry what is
essential and food is always essential to the Jew. A gallant band
of mixed fitness walkers ventured into the Hertfordshire countryside.
After stopping for a late lunch, the group covered 9.3km (nearly
6miles), with an average moving speed of 3.9km/hr (about 2.5 miles
an hour) and were in the fresh air for over 3 bracing hours. Ah,
this is the life. |

| Sukkoth |

We did remember how to put up the big Sukkah and
spent many hours in it over the holiday.
A delegation from the Lubavitch came to entertain us as part
of the Sukkoth party, with songs, dancing and, of course, a word
from our sponsor. |
